Pineview Cemetery Restoration

Overview:
Pineview Cemetery is the burial ground for the families and friends of the Bailey Johnson Community. The Bailey Johnson Community was an African American community that was established in the Alpharetta area after the Civil War. It is currently still an active cemetery where descendants of this pioneer community can be buried today. The Cemetery is overseen by the nonprofit organization, Pineview Cemetery Association, LTD. It is on 1 acre of land and has about 160 grave plots. It is located at 300 Teasley Dr, Alpharetta, GA 30009.

An Eagle Service Project by Eagle Scout Benjamin Horne of Boy Scout Troop 2206 chartered by St. James United Methodist Church, restored the cemetery and included the following project tasks:
- A plot survey that was conducted on November 17, 2012
- A project to clean all grave stones
- A project to build and place a sign on the cemetery grounds to recognize and honor the Bailey Johnson Community.
- A project to work with the Alpharetta & Old Milton County Historical Society to host the plot survey results and the historical information about this cemetery on their website.
